3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only as described below:

3.1 Firebase (Google LLC)

Vow uses Firebase, a platform provided by Google LLC, to power account authentication and cloud synchronization. When you create an account and enable sync, the following data is transmitted to and stored on Firebase servers:

Firebase services used include Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Firebase operates under Google's Privacy Policy, which can be found at policies.google.com/privacy. Firebase stores data in Google Cloud infrastructure. Data may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates data centers.

3.2 Google (Google Drive – Optional)

If you choose to connect Google Drive, we use Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol to request access to your Drive files. We read file metadata (names and identifiers) to display them in-app. We do not write to, upload to, or modify your Google Drive. Your Google account credentials are handled entirely by Google and are never stored by Vow. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google Account settings.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or government request.

3.4 Partner Sharing (User-Initiated)

When you share an invite code with another person, they can link their account to your wedding plan and view and edit all shared planning data. You control whether to share your plan by choosing whether to generate and distribute an invite code.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 On-Device Storage

Your wedding data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData (backed by SQLite). iOS encrypts this database by default using AES encryption, tied to your device passcode.

4.2 Cloud Storage

When you create an account, data is also stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore. All data transmitted between the app and Firebase is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS.

4.3 Security Measures

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including:

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
